इत्य् आदिमहापुराणे आग्नेये महाभारतवर्णनं नाम चतुर्दशो ऽध्यायः अथ पञ्चदशो ऽध्यायः पाण्डवचरितवर्णनम् अग्निर् उवाच युधिष्ठिरे तु राज्यस्थे आश्रमादाश्रमान्तरम् धृतराष्ट्रो वनमगाद् गान्धारी च पृथा द्विज
ity ādimahāpurāṇe āgneye mahābhāratavarṇanaṃ nāma caturdaśo 'dhyāyaḥ atha pañcadaśo 'dhyāyaḥ pāṇḍavacaritavarṇanam agnir uvāca yudhiṣṭhire tu rājyasthe āśramādāśramāntaram dhṛtarāṣṭro vanamagād gāndhārī ca pṛthā dvija
ഇങ്ങനെ ആദിമഹാപുരാണമായ ആഗ്നേയപുരാണത്തിൽ ‘മഹാഭാരതവർണനം’ എന്ന പതിനാലാം അധ്യായം സമാപിച്ചു. ഇനി പതിനഞ്ചാം അധ്യായം ‘പാണ്ഡവചരിതവർണനം’ ആരംഭിക്കുന്നു. അഗ്നി പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ ദ്വിജാ! യുധിഷ്ഠിരൻ രാജ്യം ഉറപ്പിച്ചതിനുശേഷം ധൃതരാഷ്ട്രൻ ഗന്ധാരിയും പൃഥയും കൂടെ ആശ്രമത്തിൽ നിന്ന് ആശ്രമത്തിലേക്ക് സഞ്ചരിച്ച് വനത്തിലേക്ക് പോയി।
