Concept: Tattva-krama: Mahat/Buddhi as first evolute; tanmātras as subtle causes; bhūtas as gross effects—causality and emanation as explanatory model.
Application: Use as a study map for meditation on creation (sṛṣṭi-krama), for aligning microcosm (body/mind) with macrocosm in contemplative practice.

Sandhi Resolution Notes: इत्य् = इति + (य्-आदेशः before vowel); ऊनविंशतितमो ऽध्यायः = ऊनविंशतितमः + अध्यायः (ऽ = अ); विंशतितमो ऽध्यायः = विंशतितमः + अध्यायः; अग्निर् उवाच = अग्निः + उवाच (visarga sandhi: ः + उ → र्); ब्रह्मणस्तु = ब्रह्मणः + तु (visarga before t → s); द्वितीयस्तु = द्वितीयः + तु; स स्मृतः = सः + स्मृतः (visarga before s → s)

It imparts cosmological taxonomy (Sāṃkhya-informed sṛṣṭi-krama): first the emanation of Mahat (cosmic intellect), then the emergence of gross elements (bhūtas) from the subtle elements (tanmātras).
By cataloging creation stages using technical metaphysical categories (Mahat, tanmātras, bhūtas), it functions like a concise doctrinal index—typical of the Agni Purāṇa’s multi-disciplinary, reference-style presentation.
Understanding creation as an ordered emanation from subtle to gross supports viveka (discriminative insight) and detachment from purely material identification, aligning the mind toward liberation-oriented knowledge (jñāna).
