It sanctifies the householder path by teaching that daily nourishment offered and taken with śraddhā becomes a dharmic act, supporting inner peace (nirvṛti) and harmony—qualities that steady the mind for Shiva-bhakti and liberation-oriented living.
In Shaiva practice, feeding others and maintaining a pure, faith-filled household is a form of seva offered to Saguna Shiva; such devotion supports purity of heart, which is essential for meaningful Linga-puja and remembrance of Pati (Shiva) amid worldly duties.
A practical takeaway is daily anna-dāna (sharing food) and offering meals with devotion—mentally dedicating the act to Shiva (often with Om Namaḥ Śivāya)—cultivating steadiness, gratitude, and tranquil contentment.
