Cosmogony and the Roles of the Trimūrti
यस्मादकल्पयत्कल्पान्तमग्राश्शुचयो यतः । भवंति मुनिशार्दूल नमस्तस्मै स्वयम्भुवे
yasmādakalpayatkalpāntamagrāśśucayo yataḥ | bhavaṃti muniśārdūla namastasmai svayambhuve

It proclaims the Self-born Lord (Pati) as the ultimate source from whom purity, wisdom, and the highest sages arise—even across cosmic dissolution—highlighting Shiva as the ground of both creation and spiritual illumination.
By offering namas to the Self-born Lord, the verse supports Saguna devotion as a direct approach to the transcendent source; Linga-worship embodies this same Svayambhu principle—Shiva as self-existent and the origin of all sacred orders.
The practical takeaway is continual namas (salutation) and remembrance of Shiva as Svayambhu—performed through japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and simple daily worship (arcana) as a discipline of purity (śuci).
