By naming the Kumāras and other renowned seers, the text invokes a lineage of realized knowledge—pointing to liberation through jñāna and vairāgya under the lordship of Pati (Śiva), consistent with the Umāsaṃhitā’s philosophical tone.
Even when the verse is a list of sages, its function is to situate Śiva-worship within an authentic paramparā: the same realized teachers who uphold discernment (viveka) also affirm devotion to Saguna Śiva and reverence for the Linga as a support for meditation and grace.
The practical takeaway is sādhana grounded in scriptural lineage: daily japa of the Panchākṣarī ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") with steady meditation, supported by Shaiva disciplines such as bhasma (tripuṇḍra) and Rudrākṣa where appropriate.
