इन्द्राविष्णू दृंहिताः शम्बरस्य नव पुरो नवतिं च श्नथिष्टम् । शतं वर्चिनः सहस्रं च साकं हथो अप्रत्यसुरस्य वीरान् ॥
índrāvíṣṇū dṛṃhitā́ḥ śámbarasya náva púro navatíṃ ca śnathiṣṭam | śatáṃ varcínaḥ sahásraṃ ca sā́kaṃ hathó apratyásurasya vīrā́n ||
O Indra and Vishnu, firmly founded in your power, you shattered the nine strongholds and the ninety besides of Shambara. Together you struck down the hundred and the thousand radiant warriors of the irresistible Asura—clearing the way for the Light to recover its rightful kingdom.
