त्वामेवैकंमहाबाहुंचापहस्तमरिन्दमम् ।।।।त्रिदशानातिवर्तन्तेजितेन्द्रियमिवाधयः ।विक्रमस्वमहाबुद्धे कर्माणिममपश्यतः ।।।।
tvām evaikaṃ mahābāhuṃ cāpahastam arindamam | tridaśā nātivartante jitendriyam ivādhayaḥ | vikramasva mahābuddhe karmāṇi mama paśyataḥ ||
ໂອ ຜູ້ມີແຂນໃຫຍ່ ຜູ້ຖືຄັນທະນູ ຜູ້ປາບສັດຕູ! ມີແຕ່ເຈົ້າຜູ້ດຽວທີ່ແມ່ນແຕ່ເທວະທັງໄຕຣທະສະກໍບໍ່ອາດກ້າວຂ້າມໄດ້; ດັ່ງທຸກຂ໌ພະຍາດທີ່ບໍ່ອາດຄອບງຳຜູ້ຊະນະອິນທຣີຍໄດ້. ດັ່ງນັ້ນ ໂອ ຜູ້ມີປັນຍາຍິ່ງ ຈົ່ງສະແດງວິກຣະມະແລະກິດການຂອງເຈົ້າໃຫ້ຂ້າພະເຈົ້າເຫັນເຖິງກັບຕາ!
"Oh! mighty-armed, Kumbha! wielding pike in hand, you are a tamer of enemies, you alone are the one that gods are not able to overcome, a pre eminent one who has gained over senses, highly intelligent, exhibiting your prowess and deeds before me."
Jitendriyatā (self-mastery) is upheld as a dharmic ideal: one who conquers the senses becomes difficult to overpower—an ethical standard even within martial context.
Sugrīva challenges Kumbha with elevated rhetoric, urging him to show his full strength in combat.
Jitendriya (self-control) as the foundation of true power, alongside śaurya (heroic valor).
