Sita’s Lament and Resolve under Threat
नैवास्ति दोषो मम नूनमत्र वध्याहमस्याप्रियदर्शनस्य।भावं न चास्याहमनुप्रदातु मलं द्विजो मन्त्रमिवाद्विजाय।।5.28.5।।
naivāsti doṣo mama nūnam atra vadhyāham asyāpriyadarśanasya | bhāvaṃ na cāsyāham anupradātuṃ malaṃ dvijo mantram ivādvijāya ||5.28.5||
ແນ່ນອນ ຖ້າຂ້າພະເຈົ້າຕາຍຢູ່ນີ້ໃນບັດນີ້ ກໍບໍ່ແມ່ນຄວາມຜິດຂອງຂ້າພະເຈົ້າ; ການຖືກຂ້າໂດຍຜູ້ມີຮູບພາບນ່າຊັງນັ້ນເປັນຊະຕາກໍາ. ບໍ່ຄວນໃຫ້ໃຈ ຫຼືຍອມຮັບເຂົາ—ເຫມືອນພຣາຫມັນບໍ່ຖ່າຍທອດມົນຕຣາອັນສັກສິດໃຫ້ຜູ້ບໍ່ສົມຄວນ।
"I will not be blamed if I commit suicide now.I stand condemned to death in the hands of this ugly Ravana. I cannot bestow my affection on him or surender to his desire like a brahmin would not like to impart Vedic knowledge to a non-brahmin. (Better die of my own accord than be killed by a sinful ogre).
