This is the family of the Kusas, venerable always devoted to dharma, foremost of men, great like Lord Brahma.
Dharma is presented as the defining inheritance: true continuity of a dynasty is not merely biological, but the transmission of virtue and righteous conduct.
Kūśa addresses King Kūśanābha, predicting the birth of a virtuous son named Gādhi and the lasting renown that will follow.
The virtue emphasized is dharma-niṣṭhā—steadfast devotion to righteousness—shown as the greatest source of lasting fame.
