Janārdana (Vishnu)
Primary Rasa: karuna
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
Type: celestial_realm
Sandhi Resolution Notes: प्रत्युवाच = प्रति + उवाच; देवान्क्लिष्टमुखान्सर्वान् = देवान् + क्लिष्टमुखान् + सर्वान्; भवद्भिरागतं = भवद्भिः + आगतम्.
After the gods finish praising Vishnu (Janārdana), he responds and asks why they have arrived looking distressed—signaling the start of a request or crisis narrative.
The devas approach Vishnu with stuti, and Vishnu responds as the attentive protector who inquires into their suffering—highlighting his role as refuge (śaraṇya) and sustainer.
Compassionate leadership begins with listening and then asking the right question—understanding the cause of distress before acting.
