Madhusūdana is an epithet of Viṣṇu (often also used for Kṛṣṇa), meaning “slayer of the demon Madhu,” and is invoked here as the divine protector.
It depicts classic bhakti markers—añjali (folded hands), praṇāma (bowing), trembling, and a choked voice—showing heartfelt surrender rather than ritual formality alone.
The verse highlights śaraṇāgati (taking refuge): when one feels helpless, sincere humility and turning toward the Divine is presented as the right inner response.
