Unspecified (narratorial/teacher voice within the Bhūmi-khaṇḍa dialogue context)

Concept: The speaker claims doctrinal certainty and prescribes observances that exclude sacrificial performance and priestly officiation, emphasizing instead a textual/study component.

Application: When encountering ‘certain’ teachings, examine what they remove: community rites, gratitude to devas/pitṛs, and sacramental life. Balance study with lived worship and ethical duties.

Primary Rasa: raudra

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

Type: forest

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A teacher figure stands before a gathered audience, raising a finger in emphatic certainty while behind him an unlit sacrificial altar and cold fire-pit symbolize rejected rites. Students clutch palm-leaf texts, suggesting a shift from ritual flame to scriptural study.","primary_figures":["teacher/narrator figure (contextual)","students/disciples","King Vena (as observer, optional)"],"setting":"edge of a ritual ground with an abandoned vedi, nearby a simple study pavilion with manuscripts","lighting_mood":"stormy overcast","color_palette":["charcoal gray","burnt umber","pale parchment","dull copper","indigo"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: a didactic scene—teacher in the center with commanding gesture, disciples holding palm-leaf manuscripts; an unlit yajña-kuṇḍa behind, rendered with gold leaf accents on borders and ornaments, dramatic contrast of rich reds with dark grays.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: subtle drama—clouded sky over a quiet vedi, teacher speaking to seated students; delicate linework, restrained palette, expressive hands and attentive faces, manuscript details finely painted.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: bold outlines—teacher with intense gaze, disciples in rows, stylized vedi and extinguished fire; natural pigments, strong reds/yellows against dark background, ornamental frame motifs.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: symbolic composition—central teacher and disciples framed by floral borders; the extinguished altar as a motif, deep indigo ground with gold highlights, repeating manuscript and lamp patterns."}

FAQs

It prioritizes veda-adhyayana—study/recitation of the Veda—while stating that yajana (performing sacrifices) and yajana/yājana (officiating for others) are not required here.

The verse frames a code of conduct (ācāra) and presents Vedic study as the central discipline, implying restraint from ritual priestly activity in this particular doctrinal context.

It affirms the Veda by making Vedic study the sole emphasized practice, even while de-emphasizing sacrificial ritual performance.
