Narada (as petitioner/supplicant within the vrata narrative)
Vrata: Dvādaśī-upavāsa vrata (Dvādaśī fast with Trayodaśī pāraṇa)
Primary Rasa: karuna
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It frames fasting (upavāsa) and its correct completion (pāraṇa) as a precise dharmic discipline whose fruit is “sukṛta” (merit) that can be dedicated or sought for higher spiritual results.
By emphasizing vrata-observance—fasting on the proper tithi and completing it rightly—the verse presents disciplined worship as a concrete expression of devotion, where the devotee seeks merit aligned with sacred outcomes.
It relies on calendrical/tithi-based ritual timing (a jyotiṣa-style practical application): observing Dvādaśī for fasting and Trayodaśī for pāraṇa, showing that correct timing is integral to ritual efficacy.
