Vasiṣṭha
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: śānta
Secondary Rasa: jijñāsā (inquisitive)
It frames bhasma (sacred ash) as a ritually meaningful substance whose potency depends on its correct source—specifically, the type of consecrated fire that produces it—linking purity to proper dharmic procedure.
Indirectly: by emphasizing attentive listening to a guru-sage’s instruction on sacred practice, it supports bhakti as disciplined reverence expressed through correct ritual observance and receptivity to authoritative teaching.
Kalpa (ritual procedure) is implied: the verse introduces a technical clarification about which fire is ritually valid for producing sacred ash, a matter governed by prescribed rites and correct liturgical method.
