Adhyaya 44 — Subahu’s Counsel to the King of Kashi and Alarka’s Renunciation through Yoga
इति श्रीमार्कण्डेयपुराणे अरिष्टकथनं नाम त्रिचत्वारिंशोऽध्यायः ।
चतुःचत्वारिंशोऽध्यायः ।
सुबाहुरुवाच—
यदर्थं नृपशार्दूल ! त्वामहं शरणं गतः ।
तन्मया सकलं प्राप्तं यास्यामि त्वं सुखी भव ॥
iti śrīmārkaṇḍeya-purāṇe ariṣṭa-kathanaṃ nāma tricātvāriṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ |
catuḥcātvāriṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ |
subāhur uvāca—
yad-arthaṃ nṛpaśārdūla tvām ahaṃ śaraṇaṃ gataḥ |
tan mayā sakalaṃ prāptaṃ yāsyāmi tvaṃ sukhī bhava ||
ດັ່ງນີ້ໃນ ສຣີ ມາຣະກັນເດຍ ປຸຣານະ ບົດທີ 43 ຊື່ «ເລື່ອງລາວກ່ຽວກັບ ອະຣິດຕະ» ໄດ້ສິ້ນສຸດ. ບັດນີ້ເລີ່ມບົດທີ 44. ສຸບາຫູ ກ່າວວ່າ: «ເພາະເຫດໃດ ໂອ ພະຣາຊາຜູ້ເປັນເສືອໃນຫມູ່ກະສັດ, ຂ້າພະເຈົ້າຈຶ່ງມາພຶງພາທ່ານ—ເປົ້າໝາຍນັ້ນທັງໝົດ ຂ້າພະເຈົ້າບັນລຸແລ້ວ. ຂ້າພະເຈົ້າຈະໄປ; ຂໍໃຫ້ທ່ານມີຄວາມສຸກ.»

Refuge is purposeful: once the need is resolved (externally and inwardly), one should depart without clinging, offering goodwill rather than demanding reward.
