Tantipāla
न चाप्यहं चालयितुं शक््या केनचिदड़ने । दुःखशीला हि गन्धर्वास्ति च मे बलिन: प्रिया:
na cāpy ahaṃ cālayituṃ śakyā kenacid raṇe | duḥkhaśīlā hi gandharvāsti ca me balinaḥ priyāḥ ||
ແລະໃນສົງຄາມ ບໍ່ມີໃຜຈະສາມາດສັ່ນຄອນ ຫຼືຂັບໄລ່ຂ້ອຍອອກຈາກທີ່ຢືນໄດ້. ເພາະວ່າພວກຄັນທະວະ (Gandharva) ດຸຮ້າຍ ແລະທົນຕໍ່ຕ້ານຍາກ; ທັງຜູ້ທີ່ຂ້ອຍຮັກກໍມີພະລັງຫນັກແນ່ນດ້ວຍ.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical tension between confidence and overconfidence: strength and fierce allies can inspire resolve, yet such assertions also foreshadow the consequences of pride when one underestimates formidable opponents.
In Vaiśampāyana’s narration, a speaker asserts that no one can dislodge him in battle, emphasizing the fearsome nature of the Gandharvas and the strength of his own dear companions, setting the tone for an impending confrontation.
