Virāṭa-parva Adhyāya 54 — Missile-Exchange and Tactical Redirection

उद्धृूतलाडूलमहापताक- ध्वजोत्तमांसाकुलभीषणान्तम्‌ । गाण्डीवनिर्हादकृतप्रणाद॑ किरीडिनं प्रेक्ष्य ननाद कर्ण:,अर्जुनके रथकी ध्वजापर बैठे वानरवीरकी पूँछ बहुत बड़ी पताकाके समान हिल रही थी और उसके अग्रभागपर भयंकर भूतोंका भैरवनाद हो रहा था। इसके साथ ही वज्रकी गड़गड़ाहटके समान गाण्डीव धनुषकी टंकार फैल रही थी। ऐसे किरीटधारी अर्जुनकी ओर देखकर कर्ण बार-बार सिंहनाद करने लगा

uddhṛta-lāṅgūla-mahā-patākā-dhvajottamāṃsākula-bhīṣaṇāntam |

gāṇḍīva-nirghāda-kṛta-praṇādaṃ kirīṭinaṃ prekṣya nanāda karṇaḥ ||

ໄວສັມປາຍະນະ ກ່າວວ່າ: ເມື່ອເຫັນ ອາຣະຈຸນ ຜູ້ສວມມົງກຸດ—ຜູ້ມີທຸງອັນສູງສຸດຢູ່ເທິງລົດຮົບ, ມີມາດຕະຖານໃຫຍ່ເປັນຫາງລີງທີ່ຊູງຂຶ້ນໄຫວຄ້າຍທຸງໃຫຍ່, ດ້ານໜ້າລົດຮົບດູນ່າຢ້ານດ້ວຍຄວາມອຶກທຶກແລະຄວາມສະພຶງ, ແລະມີສຽງກັງວານດັ່ງຟ້າຮ້ອງຈາກຄັນທະນູ ຄານດີວະ—ກັນນະ ກໍຮ້ອງຄຳຮາມດັ່ງສິງໂຕ ຊ້ຳໆ.
