वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights a ruler’s and protector’s dharma: to free the afflicted from unjust restraint, offer reassurance, and restore their dignity—compassion expressed through decisive, ethical action.
The narrator states that Draupadī (called Kṛṣṇā) is released from bondage and then consoled; the immediate crisis is resolved by freeing her and giving her assurance.
