वैशम्पायन उवाच
A king (or any responsible person) should respond to worthy people with appropriate joy and honor; grieving where one should celebrate and show respect is presented as a reversal of proper dharmic conduct.
Vaiśaṃpāyana addresses a king as ‘rājendra’ and rebukes him: instead of rejoicing and honoring the Pāṇḍavas, he is lamenting, and this reaction is described as inappropriate and contrary to what the situation demands.
