Saṃjaya’s Warning to Dhṛtarāṣṭra: Accountability, Alliance-Shift, and the Pāṇḍava Strategic Edge
यो5क्लेशयत् पाण्डुपुत्रान् यो विद्वेष्ट्यधुनापि वै । सर्वोपायैर्नियन्तव्य: सानुग: पापपूरुष:
sañjaya uvāca | yo 'kleśayat pāṇḍuputrān yo vidveṣṭy adhunāpi vai | sarvopāyair niyantavyaḥ sānugaḥ pāpapūruṣaḥ ||
ສັນຊະຍະ ກ່າວວ່າ: «ຜູ້ໃດທີ່ໄດ້ທຳຮ້າຍລູກຫຼານຂອງປານດຸ ແລະ ຍັງຊັງພວກເຂົາຢູ່ໃນບັດນີ້—ຄົນບາບນັ້ນ ພ້ອມທັງພວກພ້ອມພັນ ຈຳເປັນຕ້ອງຖືກຄວບຄຸມດ້ວຍທຸກວິທີ».
संजय उवाच
A ruler must actively restrain a wrongdoer—especially one who has harmed the righteous and persists in hatred—using every lawful and prudent means, rather than indulging in helpless grief.
Sanjaya identifies the continuing source of conflict as the person who has long tormented the Pāṇḍavas and still hates them, and urges that he be controlled along with his supporters to prevent further injustice and escalation.
