द्रव्यवान्‌ गुणवानेवं त्यागी भवति सात््विक: । पज्च भूतानि पञ्चभ्यो निवर्तयति तादृश:,जो धनी गृहस्थ इस प्रकार गुणवान्‌, त्यागी और सात््विक होता है, वह अपनी पाँचों इन्द्रियोंसे पाँचों विषयोंको हटा देता है

dravyavān guṇavān evaṁ tyāgī bhavati sāttvikaḥ | pañca bhūtāni pañcabhyo nivartayati tādṛśaḥ ||

ສະນັດສຸຊາຕະ ກ່າວວ່າ: «ຄົນຄອບຄົວຜູ້ມີຊັບ ແລະມີຄຸນທຳ ຜູ້ດຳລົງຊີວິດດ້ວຍຈິດໃຈແຫ່ງການສະຫຼະ ຍ່ອມເປັນ sāttvika. ຄົນເຊັ່ນນັ້ນຍັບຍັ້ງອິນຊີທັງຫ້າ ໃຫ້ຖອນກັບຈາກອາລົມວັດຖຸທັງຫ້າ ແລະບໍ່ໃຫ້ໃຈຖືກລາກອອກໄປພາຍນອກ»។
