धर्मस्य बहुद्वारत्वम् — Nārada’s Audience with Indra (Śānti-parva 340)
सुरकार्ये हनिष्यामि यज्ञघ्नं दितिनन्दनम् | तदनन्तर देवताओंके कार्यके लिये नरसिंहरूप धारण करके यज्ञनाशक दितिनन्दन हिरण्यकशिपुका संहार कर डालूँगा
surakārye haniṣyāmi yajñaghnaṃ ditinandanaṃ | tadanantaraṃ devatānāṃ kāryārthaṃ nara-siṃha-rūpaṃ dhārayitvā yajña-nāśakaṃ ditinandanaṃ hiraṇyakaśipuṃ saṃhariṣyāmi ||
ພີສະມະ ກ່າວວ່າ: «ເພື່ອປະໂຫຍດແຫ່ງເທວະດາ ຂ້າພະເຈົ້າຈະສັງຫານຜູ້ທຳລາຍຍັດຍະ ບຸດຂອງດິຕິ. ຫຼັງຈາກນັ້ນ ເພື່ອໃຫ້ການງານຂອງເທວະດາສຳເລັດ ຂ້າພະເຈົ້າຈະຮັບຮູບນະຣະສິງຫະ ແລະສັງຫານຮິຣັນຍະກະສິປຸ ບຸດຂອງດິຕິ ຜູ້ນຳຄວາມພິນາດມາໃຫ້ແກ່ຍັດຍະ»។
(भीष्म उवाच
When forces hostile to dharma violently obstruct yajña and the moral-cosmic order it represents, protective action—even in extraordinary forms—becomes justified as a duty to restore balance and safeguard the righteous.
Bhīṣma describes the resolve to eliminate a Daitya who destroys sacrifices, specifically naming Hiraṇyakaśipu, and states that the protector will assume the Narasiṃha form to accomplish the gods’ purpose and end the threat.
