धर्मस्य बहुद्वारत्वम् — Nārada’s Audience with Indra (Śānti-parva 340)
जनमेजयेन तच्छुत्वा कृतं सम्यग् यथाविधि । यूयं हि तप्ततपस: सर्वे च चरितव्रता:
janamejayena tac chrutvā kṛtaṃ samyag yathāvidhi | yūyaṃ hi taptatapasaḥ sarve ca caritavratāḥ ||
ພີສະມະກ່າວວ່າ: «ເມື່ອພຣະຣາຊາ ຈະນະເມຊະຍະ ໄດ້ຟັງແລ້ວ ກໍໄດ້ບຳເນີນພິທີນັ້ນຢ່າງຖືກຕ້ອງ ຕາມກົດແລະວິທີທີ່ກຳນົດໄວ້. ແລະພວກເຈົ້າທັງໝົດກໍແທ້ຈິງເປັນນັກຕະປະຜູ້ຜ່ານການຝຶກຝົນ—ແຕ່ລະຄົນໝັ້ນຄົງໃນວຣະຕະ ແລະມີວິໄນໃນການປະພຶດ».
भीष्म उवाच
The verse affirms dharma as disciplined action: hearing sacred instruction should culminate in conduct that is ‘yathāvidhi’ (as prescribed), and spiritual authority is linked to tapas (austerity) and vrata (vow-observance).
Bhishma notes that Janamejaya, after hearing the account, carried out the prescribed rite correctly; he then acknowledges the audience as accomplished ascetics who maintain vows, reinforcing their fitness to receive and preserve the teaching.
