पराशर उवाच
True stability in spiritual life comes not merely from learning, but from disciplined practice: self-restraint (dama) and austerity (tapas). Through reliance on tapas, one attains one’s proper nature and becomes firmly established in wisdom.
Parāśara addresses Vaideha (Janaka), explaining how certain seekers or Veda-knowers reach their natural, perfected state. He emphasizes the means: taking refuge in austerity and cultivating self-control.
