Chapter 29
गच्छावधानं नृपते ततो दु:खं प्रहास्यसि । “नरेश्वर! मैं पूर्ववर्ती राजाओंके महान् सौभाग्यका वर्णन करता हूँ। सुनो और सावधान हो जाओ। इससे तुम्हारा दुःख दूर हो जायगा
gacchāvadhānaṃ nṛpate tato duḥkhaṃ prahāsyasi |
ວາຍຸ ກ່າວວ່າ: «ໂອ ພຣະຣາຊາ, ຈົ່ງຟັງດ້ວຍຄວາມລະມັດລະວັງ; ແລ້ວພຣະອົງຈະປະລະຄວາມໂສກໄດ້. ຂ້າພະເຈົ້າຈະພັນລະນາເຖິງຄວາມໂຊກດີອັນຍິ່ງໃຫຍ່ຂອງພຣະຣາຊາໃນການກ່ອນ—ຈົ່ງຟັງດ້ວຍໃຈທີ່ຈົ່ງຈໍ່, ແລ້ວຄວາມເສົ້າໂສກຂອງພຣະອົງຈະຖືກຂັບໄລ່».
वायुदेव उवाच
Focused listening and attentive reflection on exemplary narratives (here, the fortunes and conduct of earlier kings) is presented as a practical means to overcome grief and regain steadiness of mind.
Vāyudeva addresses a king in a consolatory, instructive tone, urging him to be attentive; Vāyu then prepares to recount accounts of former kings whose great fortune (and implied dharmic conduct) will help relieve the king’s present sorrow.
