अध्याय २०८ — इन्द्रियनिग्रहः, सत्याहिंसात्मकवाक्, कर्मफलविवेकः
Restraint of the Senses, Non-harming Truthful Speech, and Discernment of Karmic Consequence
स्वजादन्यकृताच्चैव सर्वपापात् प्रमुच्यते । इस प्रकार सम्पूर्ण देवताओंमें जो चार वर्ण हैं
bhīṣma uvāca | svajād anyakṛtāc caiva sarvapāpāt pramucyate | iti prakāreṇa samasta-devatāsu ye catvāro varṇāḥ, teṣāṃ varṇanaṃ kṛtam | yaḥ prātaḥ utthāya etā devatāḥ kīrtayati, sa svayaṃ kṛtāt tathā anyasaṃsargaprāptāt samasta-pāpasamūhāt mucyate |
ພີດສະມະກ່າວວ່າ: «ຜູ້ນັ້ນຈະພົ້ນຈາກບາບທັງປວງ—ທັງບາບທີ່ເກີດຈາກກຳຂອງຕົນ ແລະ ບາບທີ່ເກີດຈາກການຄົບຄ້າສຳພັນກັບກຳຂອງຜູ້ອື່ນ. ດັ່ງນັ້ນ ‘ຈຳພວກ’ ທັງສີ່ທີ່ກ່າວເຖິງໃນຫມູ່ເທວະດາ ຈຶ່ງໄດ້ຖືກອະທິບາຍແລ້ວ. ຜູ້ໃດຕື່ນຂຶ້ນໃນຕອນເຊົ້າ ແລະ ສະດຸດສະຫຼອງສັນລະເສີນເທວະດາເຫຼົ່ານີ້ ຜູ້ນັ້ນຈະພົ້ນຈາກກອງບາບທັງໝົດ ບໍ່ວ່າບາບທີ່ຕົນເຮັດ ຫຼື ບາບທີ່ໄດ້ມາຈາກການສຳຜັດກັບຜູ້ອື່ນ»។
भीष्म उवाच
Regular morning remembrance and praise of the described deities is presented as a purifying discipline that frees a person from sins arising from one’s own actions and from moral taint acquired through association with others.
Bhishma concludes a prior description of a fourfold classification among deities and states the fruit (phala) of reciting their praise at dawn: release from the accumulated burden of sin, including that gained through contact with others.
