त्रिवर्गमूलनिश्चयः — Determining the Roots of Dharma, Artha, and Kāma
Mahābhārata, Śānti-parva 123
वेदा: प्रतिष्ठा ज्योतिर्भ्यस्ततो हयशिरा: प्रभु: । ब्रह्मा पितामहस्तस्माज्जागर्ति प्रभुरव्यय:
vedāḥ pratiṣṭhā jyotirbhyaḥ tato hayaśirāḥ prabhuḥ | brahmā pitāmahastasmāj jāgarti prabhuravyayaḥ ||
ວາສຸຫະໂຣມາ ກ່າວວ່າ: «ຈາກດວງແສງທິບ ເກີດມີ ‘ດັນດະ’ (daṇḍa) ແຫ່ງອຳນາດ ທີ່ເຮັດໃຫ້ພຣະເວດາທັງຫຼາຍຕັ້ງມັ່ນ. ຈາກພຣະເວດາ ເກີດພຣະເຈົ້າ ຫະຍະກຣີວະ (Hayagrīva); ແລະຈາກຫະຍະກຣີວະ ເກີດພຣະພຣະຫມາ (Brahmā) ຜູ້ບໍ່ເສື່ອມ ແລະເປັນປິຕາມະຫາ. ເມື່ອຮັບ ‘ດັນດະ’ ແຫ່ງວິໄນແລະການປົກຄອງແລ້ວ ພຣະອົງຍັງຄົງຕື່ນຕົວເພື່ອປົກປ້ອງ ແລະຈັດລະບຽບໂລກທັງຫຼາຍ».
