अमावास्यां महातेजास्तत्रोन्मज्जन्‌ महाद्युति: | लोकान्‌ प्रभासयामास शीतांशुत्वमवाप च

amāvāsyāṃ mahātejās tatrōnmajjan mahādyutiḥ | lokān prabhāsayāmāsa śītāṃśutvam avāpa ca ||

ໄວສຳປາຍະນະ ກ່າວວ່າ: ໃນຄືນອະມາວາສະຍາ (ຄືນເດືອນດັບ) ຜູ້ມີເທດສະພາບຍິ່ງໃຫຍ່ ແລະສະຫວ່າງໄສນັ້ນ ໄດ້ດຳນ້ຳຢູ່ທີ່ນັ້ນ. ດ້ວຍການກະທຳນັ້ນ ພຣະອົງໄດ້ຮັບຄຸນສົມບັດແຫ່ງລັດສະໝີເຢັນສະບາຍດັ່ງແສງຈັນ ແລະເລີ່ມສ່ອງສະຫວ່າງແກ່ໂລກທັງປວງ—ຄວາມງາມແລະຄວາມຮຸ່ງເຮືອງຂອງພຣະອົງປາກົດຄືນອີກຄັ້ງ.
