Educational Q&A

The verse underscores a warrior-code ideal: if one is to strike the enemy, one should do so openly in battle—entering the camp, declaring one’s identity, and fighting face-to-face—rather than relying on secrecy or deception.

Kṛpa is advising a warrior (contextually within the Sauptika events) to go to the opposing side’s encampment, announce himself, and then engage the enemies in combat, causing heavy destruction among those who are fighting.
