Night at the Banyan and Drauṇi’s Resolve
दिशं प्राचीं समाश्रित्य हृष्टानां गच्छतां भृशम् । रथनेमिस्वनाश्रैव श्रूयन्ते लोमहर्षणा:
diśaṁ prācīṁ samāśritya hṛṣṭānāṁ gacchatāṁ bhṛśam | rathanemisvanāś caiva śrūyante lomaharṣaṇāḥ ||
ສັນຊະຍະ ກ່າວວ່າ: «ເມື່ອຫັນໜ້າໄປທາງທິດຕາເວັນອອກ ນັກຮົບພານດະວະຜູ້ເຕັມໄປດ້ວຍຄວາມຮື້ນເຮີງ ແລະເຄື່ອນໄປດ້ວຍຄວາມໄວຢ່າງຫນັກ ຍ່ອມໄດ້ຍິນສຽງອັນຊວນໃຫ້ຂົນລຸກຂອງລໍ້ລົດຮົບຂອງເຂົາ».
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how the outward energy of war—speed, excitement, and the stirring roar of chariots—can intoxicate warriors; it implicitly frames battlefield exhilaration as a powerful force that can drive action beyond calm ethical reflection.
Sañjaya reports that the Pāṇḍava fighters are rapidly moving toward the east, and the rumbling, hair-raising sounds of their chariot wheels are distinctly audible, conveying urgency and heightened martial spirit.
