vaiśampāyana uvāca | evaṃ nirjitya pṛthivīṃ bhrātaraḥ kurunandana | vartamānāḥ svadharmeṇa śaśāsuḥ pṛthivīm imām ||
ໄວສັມປາຍະນະ ກ່າວວ່າ: «ໂອ ຜູ້ເປັນຄວາມຊື່ນບານແຫ່ງວົງກຸຣຸ! ດັ່ງນັ້ນ ຫຼັງຈາກພິຊິດແຜ່ນດິນທັງປວງແລ້ວ ພີ່ນ້ອງເຫຼົ່ານັ້ນ—ດໍາເນີນຕາມທຳຂອງຕົນ—ໄດ້ເລີ່ມປົກຄອງໂລກນີ້».
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Legitimate rule is grounded in svadharma: power gained (even by conquest) must be exercised through righteous conduct, restraint, and duty-based governance rather than personal whim.
