āhatya ca yaśo dīptaṁ suyuddhenātmano bhuvi | visṛjya śaravarṣāṇi pratāpya ca diśo daśa
ຊາລະຍະເວົ້າວ່າ: «ໂດຍໄດ້ຊະນະຊື່ສຽງອັນເຈີດຈ້າໃຫ້ແກ່ຕົນໃນໂລກນີ້ດ້ວຍການຮົບອັນສົງ່າງາມ, ແລະໂຮຍຝົນລູກສອນອອກມາບໍ່ຂາດ, ລາວໄດ້ໃຫ້ພະລັງວິລະກຳຂອງຕົນປາກົດໄປທົ່ວທິດທັງສິບ»។
शल्य उवाच
The verse highlights the kṣatriya ideal of earning renown through courageous and disciplined combat: fame is portrayed as the ethical fruit of valor when one stands firm in battle and displays prowess without shrinking from duty.
Śalya describes a warrior’s battlefield dominance: by fighting well, releasing continuous volleys of arrows, and projecting power in every quarter, the fighter becomes a fearsome presence across the field.
