Droṇa Interdicts Sātyaki; Sātyaki’s Breakthrough and Duel with Kṛtavarmā (द्रोण-निवारणम्, सात्यकि-प्रवेशः, कृतवर्म-युद्धम्)
नामन्यत तदा कृष्णो राजानं पाण्डवं पुरा । न भीष्म नैव च द्रोणं यथा त्वां मन्यतेडच्युत:,अपनी महिमासे च्युत न होनेवाले भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण पहले आपका जैसा सम्मान करते थे, वैसा उन्होंने पाण्डुपुत्र राजा युधिष्ठिर, भीष्म तथा द्रोणाचार्यका भी समादर नहीं किया है
sañjaya uvāca | nāmanyata tadā kṛṣṇo rājānaṃ pāṇḍavaṃ purā | na bhīṣmaṃ naiva ca droṇaṃ yathā tvāṃ manyate 'cyutaḥ ||
ສັນຊະຍະກ່າວວ່າ: «ໃນກ່ອນນັ້ນ ພຣະກຣິດສະນະ—ອະຈຸຕະ ຜູ້ບໍ່ເຄີຍຕົກຈາກພຣະສະຫງ່າ—ບໍ່ໄດ້ຖືກຖືກກຽດແກ່ກະສັດປານດະວະ ຢຸທິສຖິຣ, ຫຼື ພີສະມະ, ຫຼື ທຣົນາ ເທົ່າກັບທີ່ພຣະອົງຖືກຖືກກຽດແກ່ທ່ານໃນບັດນີ້».
संजय उवाच
Esteem in the Mahābhārata is portrayed as grounded in dharma and discernment, not merely in age, fame, or rank. By stating that Kṛṣṇa’s regard for the addressed person surpasses even his regard for eminent elders like Bhīṣma and Droṇa, the verse highlights how moral-spiritual worth and strategic reliability can outweigh conventional hierarchies.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra, emphasizing Kṛṣṇa’s exceptional respect for the person being addressed. He contrasts this with Kṛṣṇa’s earlier (purā) regard for other towering figures—Yudhiṣṭhira, Bhīṣma, and Droṇa—thereby intensifying the significance of Kṛṣṇa’s current stance within the unfolding conflict of the Kurukṣetra war.
