भीकम (2 अमान त्रयशीर्त्याधिकशततमोब< ध्याय: धृतराष्ट्रका पश्चात्ताप, संजयका उत्तर एवं राजा युधिष्ठिरका शोक और भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण तथा महर्षि व्यासद्वारा उसका निवारण धृतराष्ट उवाच कर्णदुर्योधनादीनां शकुने: सौबलस्य च । अपनीतं महत् तात तव चैव विशेषत:ः
dhṛtarāṣṭra uvāca | karṇa-duryodhanādīnāṃ śakuneḥ saubalasya ca | āpannam (vā: ānītaṃ) mahat tāta tava caiva viśeṣataḥ ||
ທຣິຕະຣາສະຕຣະ ກ່າວວ່າ: “ໂອ ລູກທີ່ຮັກ, ໄພພິບັດອັນໃຫຍ່ໄດ້ຕົກລົງໃສ່ ກັນນະ, ທຸຣໂຍທະນະ ແລະຜູ້ອື່ນໆ—ທັງໃສ່ ສະກຸນິ ບຸດແຫ່ງ ສຸບະລະ—ແລະໂດຍພິເສດທີ່ສຸດ ໃສ່ເຈົ້າດ້ວຍ.”
धृतराष्ट उवाच
The verse frames the war’s outcome as a ‘great calamity’ affecting not only the principal wrongdoers but also their supporters, highlighting the ethical idea that adharma-driven choices bring widespread suffering and shared consequences.
Dhṛtarāṣṭra, hearing the unfolding devastation, addresses Sañjaya with grief and anxiety, naming key Kaurava figures (Karna, Duryodhana, Śakuni) and indicating that a severe misfortune has overtaken them—and that Sañjaya too is especially affected.
