Night Exhaustion and Brief Pause in Battle
प्रातिपेयस्तु संक्रुद्ध: शक्ति भीमस्य वक्षसि
prātipeyastu saṅkruddhaḥ śaktiṃ bhīmasya vakṣasi
ສັນຊະຍະກ່າວວ່າ: ພຣາຕິເປຍະ ຜູ້ໂກດແຄ້ນ ໄດ້ຂວ້າງຫອກ (ສັກຕິ) ໃສ່ອົກຂອງພີມະ—ການກະທຳນີ້ຊີ້ໃຫ້ເຫັນວ່າ ຄວາມໂກດໃນສະໜາມຮົບ ຜັກດັນນັກຮົບໃຫ້ຟັນຟາດຢ່າງຕັດສິນ ຈົນອາດພາຊີວິດໄປ ໃນຄວາມວຸ່ນວາຍຂອງການປະລະກັນແຫ່ງທຳມະອັນໂສກເສົ້າ.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how anger (krodha) can dominate judgment in war, pushing a warrior toward lethal, immediate action; it implicitly contrasts the kṣatriya duty to fight with the ethical danger of being ruled by rage rather than disciplined resolve.
Sañjaya reports that the warrior Prātipeya, overcome with fury, casts a śakti (spear/javelin) aimed at Bhīma’s chest during the battle in Droṇa Parva.
