Educational Q&A

As a colophon, the verse does not teach through a direct maxim; it signals a thematic emphasis: in the night-battle, when clarity and restraint are hardest to maintain, Bhīma’s prowess is foregrounded, inviting reflection on how dharma is tested when war descends into darkness and desperation.

Sañjaya marks the completion of the chapter within Droṇa Parva, specifically in the Ghaṭotkaca-slaying section, during the night-fighting episode, noting that this chapter focused on Bhīma’s martial exploits.
