The verse highlights the importance of receiving wise counsel (especially from Kṛṣṇa/Keśava) to strengthen resolve and act according to dharma even under the intense ethical pressure of battle.
Sañjaya narrates that the valiant Pāṇḍava (contextually Arjuna) has been addressed by Keśava; it serves as a transition indicating that Kṛṣṇa has spoken and the Pāṇḍava is now poised to act or reply.
