Educational Q&A

The verse highlights prompt ethical deliberation: after receiving counsel from respected elders (Droṇa and Kṛpa), one should immediately reflect on kṛtya—what duty and necessity demand—before acting, especially in the moral pressure of war.

Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that, upon hearing the words spoken by Droṇa and Kṛpa, he (Sañjaya) together with Karṇa immediately began considering the required course of action—signaling a moment of strategic and dharmic decision within the Kuru camp.
