अजुन उवाच
The verse teaches that the highest spiritual goal—described as the Lord’s supreme abode—is beyond material sources of light and is self-revealing; attaining it ends the cycle of return to worldly existence.
In the Bhīṣma Parva’s Bhagavadgītā context, a teaching on the ultimate destination is being stated: the speaker identifies a transcendent realm that is not illumined by sun, moon, or fire, and from which there is no return.
