विदुरस्य महातेजा दुर्योधनकृतं स्मरन् । परंतु महातेजस्वी भीमसेनके हृदयमें उनके प्रति अमिट क्रोध जमा हुआ था। उन्हें दुर्योधनके अत्याचारोंका स्मरण हो आया, अतः उन्होंने विदुरजीकी बात नहीं स्वीकार की
Vaiśampāyana uvāca: Vidurasya mahātejā Duryodhana-kṛtaṃ smaran; parantu mahātejasvī Bhīmasenasya hṛdaye teṣu prati amitaḥ krodhaḥ sañcitaḥ āsīt. Tasya Duryodhanasya atyācārāṇāṃ smṛtir ājagāma; ataḥ sa Viduravākyaṃ na pratijagrāha.
ໄວສັມປາຍະນະ ກ່າວວ່າ: ວິດຸຣະຜູ້ມີລັດສະຫມີອັນໃຫຍ່ ໄດ້ລະລຶກເຖິງສິ່ງທີ່ດຸຣະໂຢທະນະເຄີຍກະທຳ ແລ້ວກ່າວຄຳຕັກເຕືອນ. ແຕ່ໃນໃຈຂອງພີມະເສນະຜູ້ກ້າແກ່ນ ຄວາມໂກດແຄ້ນທີ່ບໍ່ອາດດັບລົງຕໍ່ພວກເຂົາ ໄດ້ສະສົມຢູ່. ຄວາມຈື່ຈຳເຖິງການຂົ່ມເຫັງຂອງດຸຣະໂຢທະນະ ຜຸດຂຶ້ນຕໍ່ໜ້າເຂົາ; ດັ່ງນັ້ນ ເຂົາຈຶ່ງບໍ່ຮັບຄຳຊີ້ນຳຂອງວິດຸຣະ.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even when wise counsel urges restraint, unresolved anger born of remembered injustice can block receptivity. The verse frames an ethical struggle: dharmic advice (Vidura’s) versus the psychological and moral residue of oppression (Bhīma’s enduring wrath), implying that inner purification and self-mastery are necessary for counsel to bear fruit.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Vidura, recalling Duryodhana’s past deeds, speaks with great moral force; however, Bhīma’s heart remains filled with unrelenting anger due to Duryodhana’s cruelties. Because those memories surge up, Bhīma does not accept Vidura’s words.
