नैव लोभ॑ तदा चक्रुस्तत: स्वर्गमवाप्रुवन्
naiva lobhaṁ tadā cakrus tataḥ svargam avāpruvan
ພີດສະມະກ່າວວ່າ: ແມ່ນແຕ່ໃນເວລານັ້ນ ພວກເຂົາກໍບໍ່ຍອມໃຫ້ຄວາມໂລບຄອບງໍາ; ດັ່ງນັ້ນພວກເຂົາຈຶ່ງໄດ້ບັນລຸສະຫວັນ. ແມ່ນວ່າຫິວໂຫຍຫນັກ ແລະຖືກຜູ້ມີກຽດສັກສີລໍ້ລວງດ້ວຍຄວາມສຸກຫຼາຍປະເພດ ແຕ່ບັນດາຜູ້ມີຈິດໃຫຍ່ນັ້ນບໍ່ຕົກໃນອໍານາດຕັນຫາ—ດັ່ງນັ້ນຈຶ່ງໄດ້ສະຖານະແຫ່ງສະຫວັນ.
भीष्म उवाच
Resisting greed—even under severe hunger and strong inducements—is a mark of noble character and becomes a cause of spiritual merit, culminating in the attainment of heaven (svarga).
Bhishma describes a group of great-souled people who, despite being extremely hungry and being enticed with various pleasures by influential persons, refused to act out of greed; as a result, they attained svarga.
