Śrāddha-utpatti and Nivāpa–Agni Precedence (श्राद्धोत्पत्तिः—निवापेऽग्निपूर्वकत्वम्)
मूले त्वारोग्यमृच्छेत यशो55षाढासु चोत्तमम् | उत्तरासु त्वषाढासु वीतशोकश्चरेन्महीम्
mūle tv ārogyam ṛcchet yaśo ’ṣāḍhāsu cottamam | uttarāsu tv aṣāḍhāsu vītaśokaś caren mahīm ||
ພີສະມະກ່າວວ່າ: ຜູ້ໃດທຳສຣາດທະໃນນັກສັດຕະຣາ ມູລາ (Mūla) ຈະໄດ້ສຸຂະພາບ. ຖ້າໃນ ປູຣວາສາດາ (Pūrvāṣāḍhā) ຈະໄດ້ຊື່ສຽງອັນຍິ່ງ. ແລະຜູ້ທຳພິທີບູຊາບັນພະບຸຣຸດໃນ ອຸດຕະຣາສາດາ (Uttarāṣāḍhā) ຈະເດີນຢູ່ເທິງແຜ່ນດິນໂດຍປາດຈາກຄວາມໂສກ.
भीष्म उवाच

In Anuśāsana Parva, Bhishma continues instructing Yudhiṣṭhira on dharma, here giving a concise rule about the benefits attributed to performing ancestral rites under particular lunar mansions (Mūla, Pūrvāṣāḍhā, Uttarāṣāḍhā).
