Pitṛ-śrāddha-haviḥ-phala-nirdeśa
Offerings for Ancestors and Their Stated Results
परेण तपसा युक्ता: श्रीमन््तो लोकविश्रुता: | लोकानन्वचरन् सिद्धा: सर्व एव भृगूत्तम
pareṇa tapasā yuktāḥ śrīmanto lokaviśrutāḥ | lokān anvacaran siddhāḥ sarva eva bhṛgūttama ||
ພີສະມະກ່າວວ່າ: “ບັນດາລະສີຜູ້ສໍາເລັດ (ສິດທະ) ທັງຫຼາຍ ມີຕະປະສະອັນສູງສຸດ ມັ່ງຄັ່ງ ແລະໂດງດັງໃນທົ່ວໂລກ ໄດ້ເດີນທາງຢ່າງເສຣີໃນບັນດາໂລກ ໂອ ຜູ້ປະເສີດແຫ່ງວົງສາພຣຶກຸ.”
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical-spiritual ideal that supreme self-discipline (tapas) leads to inner perfection (siddhi) and a naturally arising, widely recognized excellence—so much so that such perfected ones are described as moving freely through the worlds.
Bhīṣma, in his instruction, describes a group of perfected ascetics: they are famed, radiant, and accomplished through great austerity, and he portrays their elevated status by saying they traverse the realms; he addresses his listener respectfully as “best of the Bhṛgus.”
