Yudhiṣṭhira uvāca: dahyamānāya viprāya yaḥ prayacchaty upānahau | yat phalaṁ tasya bhavati tan me brūhi pitāmaha ||
ຢຸທິສຖິຣະ ກ່າວວ່າ: «ທ່ານປູ່ (ພິຕາມະຫະ), ຂໍທ່ານບອກຂ້ອຍເຖິງຜົນບຸນຂອງຜູ້ໃດທີ່ຖວາຍເກີບໃຫ້ແກ່ພຣາຫມະນະຜູ້ທີ່ຝ່າຕີນກໍາລັງໄໝ້ຮ້ອນ (ເນື່ອງຈາກແດດ)»។
युधिछिर उवाच
That dharmic giving is evaluated by compassionate appropriateness: relieving immediate hardship (here, scorching heat and injured feet) through a practical gift like footwear is treated as a significant act of merit.
