This line functions as a colophon marking the close of a chapter situated in the dāna-dharma (ethics of giving) section; it frames the surrounding teaching as authoritative instruction on charitable duty within a sage–king dialogue.
The text signals the conclusion of the fifty-second chapter of the Cyavana–Kuśika dialogue within the Anuśāsana Parva’s dāna-dharma portion, indicating a formal transition point in Bhīṣma’s instructional discourse.
