bhīṣma uvāca | tataḥ kadācit devendro divya-rūpa-vapur-dharaḥ | idam antaram ity evam abhyagāt tam athāśramam ||
ພີສະມະກ່າວວ່າ: «ຕໍ່ມາ ໃນຄັ້ງໜຶ່ງ ເທວະເອນທຣາ (ພຣະອິນ) ສວມຮູບອັນສະຫວ່າງໄສແຫ່ງເທວະ ແລະຄິດວ່າ ‘ນີ້ແມ່ນເວລາອັນເໝາະສົມ’ ແລ້ວກໍໄດ້ມາຮອດອາສຣົມນັ້ນ»។
भीष्म उवाच
The verse sets up an ethical test: even divine power can act from desire and calculation, so dharma must be evaluated by intention and conduct, not by status. It frames the hermitage as a space where restraint and moral clarity are expected, making any intrusion morally significant.
Bhishma narrates that Indra, taking on a splendid divine appearance, decides that the moment is favorable and approaches the hermitage, initiating the next episode involving a moral challenge connected with the ashrama setting.
