तथा ब्रूहि महाभाग कुरूणां वंशवर्धन । यदि शक्या कुरुश्रेष्ठ रक्षा तासां कदाचन ।।
tathā brūhi mahābhāga kurūṇāṁ vaṁśavardhana | yadi śakyā kuruśreṣṭha rakṣā tāsāṁ kadācana || kartuṁ vā kṛtapūrvā vā tan me vyākhyātum arhasi ||
ດັ່ງນັ້ນ ໂອ ຜູ້ມີກຽດສູງ—ຜູ້ເພີ່ມພູນວົງສາກຸຣຸ—ຂໍຈົ່ງບອກຂ້າພະເຈົ້າ: ຖ້າໃນເວລາໃດໜຶ່ງ ການປົກປ້ອງນາງທັງຫຼາຍນັ້ນເປັນໄປໄດ້, ໂອ ກຸຣຸຜູ້ປະເສີດ, ຂໍຈົ່ງອະທິບາຍວິທີການ. ແລະຖ້າການປົກປ້ອງແບບນີ້ເຄີຍສຳເລັດມາກ່ອນ, ຂໍຈົ່ງເລົ່າເຫດການນັ້ນໃຫ້ຂ້າພະເຈົ້າຟັງຢ່າງລະອຽດ.
युधिछिर उवाच

Yudhiṣṭhira respectfully questions an esteemed Kuru elder/authority, asking for concrete guidance on how women may be protected and requesting an earlier example (a prior case) where such protection was successfully carried out.
