Adhyāya 39 — Yudhiṣṭhira’s inquiry on attachment (saṅga) and relational restraint

प्रणवं चाप्यधीयीत ब्राद्मीर्दुर्वसतीर्वसन्‌ । निर्मन्युरपि निर्वाणो यदि स्यात्‌ समदर्शन:

praṇavaṃ cāpy adhīyīta brāhmīr durvasatīr vasan | nir manyur api nirvāṇo yadi syāt samadarśanaḥ ||

ໂສມະກ່າວວ່າ: ຢູ່ໃນເຮືອນອາຈານ ຄວນອົດທົນຄວາມລຳບາກ ພ້ອມຮັກສາພຣະຫມະຈັນຍາ (brahmacarya) ແລະສຶກສາເວດ (Veda) ຄຽງຄູ່ກັບພະຍາງສັກສິດ “ໂອມ” (Oṃ, pranava). ໃນທ້າຍສຸດ ຈົ່ງລະຄວາມໂກດ ໃຫ້ໃຈສະຫງົບ ແລ້ວຮັບການສະຫລະໂລກ (renunciation). ແລະຖ້າເປັນຜູ້ສະຫລະໂລກ ຈົ່ງມີສາຍຕາເທົ່າທຽມຕໍ່ທຸກສັດ ແລະທຸກສະພາບການ.
