Brāhmaṇya-प्रश्नः — The Inquiry into Attaining Brāhmaṇya
Mataṅga–Gardabhī Itihāsa
नैमिषे स्वर्गतीर्थे च उपस्पृश्य जितेन्द्रिय: । फलं पुरुषमेधस्य लभेन्मासं कृतोदक:
naimiṣe svargatīrthe ca upaspṛśya jitendriyaḥ | phalaṃ puruṣamedhasya labhen māsaṃ kṛtodakaḥ ||
ອະຈັດຣິຍະ (Ajadriya) ກ່າວວ່າ: “ທີ່ໄນມິສະ (Naimiṣa) ທີ່ທ່ານ້ຳສັກສິດຊື່ ສະຫວັນ-ຕີຣຖະ (Svarga-tīrtha) ຜູ້ໃດອາບນ້ຳຊຳລະ ແລະຄອງຕົນເຫນືອອິນທຣີຍະ ພ້ອມທັງຖວາຍນ້ຳບູຊາຕາມພິທີແກ່ບັນພະບຸລຸດຕະຫຼອດໜຶ່ງເດືອນ ຈະໄດ້ຮັບຜົນບຸນເທົ່າກັບພິທີບູຊາ ປຸຣຸສະເມດະ (Puruṣamedha).”
अजड्रिय उवाच
The verse elevates disciplined pilgrimage: ritual purity (bathing), sustained observance (a month-long practice), and inner restraint (conquest of the senses) together can yield merit comparable to a major Vedic sacrifice. Ethical emphasis falls on self-control and steady duty rather than mere momentary ritual.
