Anuśāsana-parva 17
तानि निर्मथ्य मनसा दध्नो घृतमिवोद्धृतम् । प्रपितामह ब्रह्माजीने जो दस हजार नाम बताये थे, उन््हींको मनरूपी मथानीसे मथकर मथे हुए दहीसे घीकी भाँति यह सहख्रनामस्तोत्र निकाला गया है ।।
tāni nirmathya manasā dadhno ghṛtam ivoddhṛtam | gireḥ sāraṃ yathā hema puṣpasāraṃ yathā madhu ||
ວາຍຸກ່າວວ່າ: «ເມື່ອຂ້າໄດ້ຄົນ (ນາມອັນສັກສິດເກົ່າແກ່ເຫຼົ່ານັ້ນ) ດ້ວຍໃຈ—ດັ່ງການສະກັດນ້ໍາມັນໃສ (ກີ) ອອກຈາກນົມສົ້ມ—ບົດສັນລະເສີນນາມພັນນີ້ຈຶ່ງຖືກສະກັດອອກມາ. ມັນແມ່ນອັນສານອັນແທ້: ເຫມືອນຄໍາເປັນອັນສານທີ່ສະກັດອອກຈາກແຮ່, ແລະເຫມືອນນ້ໍາເຜິ້ງເປັນອັນສານທີ່ສະກັດອອກຈາກດອກໄມ້».
वायुदेव उवाच
Sacred knowledge becomes most potent when mentally ‘churned’—i.e., contemplated and internalized—so that its concentrated essence (here, the sahasranāma) emerges, comparable to ghee from curd, gold from ore, and honey from flowers.
Vāyudeva explains that the thousand-name hymn has been extracted from earlier divine names/teachings through focused mental churning, emphasizing that this stotra is a distilled, authoritative essence meant for devotion and dharmic orientation.
